Cursor + Postivate
Announce what you build, right from Cursor.
Add Postivate to Cursor and let the agent turn what you just shipped into posts for each network, check what’s already scheduled, and polish the wording, from the editor you already work in.

What to ask Cursor
Say what you need. It does the clicking.
A few things people ask Cursor to do in Postivate, and the tools it uses to do them.
“Write a LinkedIn post about the feature I just merged and save it as a draft.”
- create_post
A draft in the workspace you chose, written from the work in front of you.
“What’s already scheduled this week, so we don’t clash with the launch?”
- list_posts
- get_organization_calendar
The week’s scheduled posts, per workspace or across the organization.
“Make the announcement friendlier and shorter for X.”
- rewrite_text
A suggestion you can use or ignore; nothing is saved until you say so.
Cursor works as you
Inside your rules, every time.
Cursor sees what you can see and does only what your role allows, limited to the permissions you choose. The same checks run as when you work in Postivate yourself.
You choose what it may do
On Postivate’s consent screen you pick Cursor’s permissions. By default it drafts, but doesn’t publish or approve.
Your approval rules apply
Where a workspace requires approval, what the agent writes waits for an approver, just like your own posts.
Marked in the activity log
Everything it does is recorded under your name, with Cursor shown as the app that did it.
Disconnect any time
Under My account → Connected apps. Its access ends immediately.

Cursor FAQ
Postivate and Cursor, answered.
Where does the configuration go?
In Cursor’s MCP settings (Settings → MCP), which edit mcp.json. Add Postivate under mcpServers with the server URL; Cursor opens Postivate to sign in when the server starts.
Can Cursor publish without me?
Cursor acts as you, with your role and only the permissions you allowed when you connected it. By default it can draft but not publish or approve. If you allow scheduling or publishing, the workspace’s approval rules still apply, so a post that needs approval waits for an approver. Approving is a separate permission that is off unless you turn it on.
Which plan do I need to use Cursor with Postivate?
MCP is included on every plan, and in the free trial. What the agent can reach follows your access: the workspaces and channels you can open, with your role.
How do I disconnect it?
Under My account → Connected apps in Postivate. Disconnecting ends its access immediately. And if you lose access to a workspace in Postivate, your apps lose it at the same moment.
Can my team see what the agent did?
Yes. Everything Cursor does is recorded under your name and marked with the app, so posts and the activity log show it was done through Cursor.
