How it works

From draft to live on Threads

  1. 1

    Connect Threads

    Sign in with your Threads account and authorize Postivate. The profile becomes a channel in the workspace you choose.

  2. 2

    Write the post and its replies

    Each post has 500 characters. Need more room? Add replies under it to build a chain, each with its own photos or video.

  3. 3

    Get it approved

    If the workspace needs approval, the post waits for the right person, who can approve it or send it back with a comment. An approval covers the exact version that was reviewed, so an edit afterwards goes back for review.

  4. 4

    Publish in order

    The post goes out at your time, with the replies under it in order and your reply setting applied. Views, likes and replies start coming in shortly after.

Lead with the line that makes people stop, then carry the thought on in the replies. Postivate publishes the chain in order, each reply under the one before.

Threads reports views, likes, replies, reposts, quotes and shares for each post, and Postivate works out the engagement rate from them. Followers are recorded daily, so you can see whether the replies are turning into an audience.

Before you schedule for Threads

A few things about how Threads works with scheduling apps, from what we’ve learned building for it.

  • Write like you talk

    Posts that read like a press release tend to sink on Threads. Shorter sentences, an opinion, a question at the end: the replies are where it grows.

  • Don’t copy the Instagram caption

    A caption with a block of hashtags looks out of place here. Give Threads its own version: shorter, plainer, without the hashtag pile.

  • Links work in posts

    Unlike Instagram captions, links in Threads posts are clickable, so the link can live right in the post or in the first reply.

  • Use the chain for detail

    If the idea needs steps or examples, put them in replies. The first post stays readable in the feed, and people who want more tap in.

Yes. Connect your Threads profile and schedule text posts, photos, videos and carousels.

Can I schedule a Threads post with replies?

Yes. Add up to 9 replies under the first post. They’re published in order, each replying to the previous one.

How many photos or videos can a Threads post have?

Up to 10 in a carousel, or one video up to five minutes.

Can I control who replies on Threads?

Yes. Choose everyone, profiles you follow, or only profiles you mention, per post.

Can I post to Threads and Instagram at the same time?

Yes. Select both channels, write once, and give each its own version: Instagram needs an image or video, Threads can be text only.

Which Threads analytics do I get?
