    Add the Postivate bot

    Choose Telegram in Postivate and add its bot to your channel or group as an admin, then post the one-time code you’re shown, like /connect PV-7K3M9Q2A. The bot deletes it right away. No login, password or phone number is shared.

    Write the post

    Write up to 4,096 characters and add a photo, a video, a GIF or an album of up to 10. Turn on Send silently or protection from forwarding for this post only.

    Get it approved

    If the workspace needs approval, the post waits for the right person, who can approve it or send it back with a comment. An approval covers the exact version that was reviewed, so an edit afterwards goes back for review.

    Publish on time

    The bot posts at your time, exactly as written, and Telegram makes the links clickable. If the text is longer than a caption’s 1,024 characters, it follows the media as its own message.

Connected through a bot, not your account

Postivate never signs in as you. Its bot joins your channel or group as an admin with the rights to post and delete messages, and the one-time code you post there proves you run the chat. If the bot is removed or loses its admin rights, Postivate marks the channel as needing reconnection; add the bot back and press Reconnect.

Albums, captions and long posts

Send up to 10 photos and videos as one album, in the order you choose. Telegram stops captions at 1,024 characters, so when your text is longer, Postivate posts the media first and sends the full text right after it. Nothing gets cut off.

Quiet posts and protected content

Each post has its own Telegram settings. Send it silently so members get it without a sound, protect it from forwarding and saving, and choose whether a post without media shows a link preview. The settings are saved with the post, so they’re in place when it goes out.

Before you schedule for Telegram

A few things about how Telegram works with scheduling apps, from what we’ve learned building for it.

  • You need to be an admin

    Only an admin can add the bot and post the connect code, which is how Postivate knows you run the chat. If you help with a channel without admin rights, ask an owner to make you an admin first.

  • Keep the bot an admin

    The bot posts with its admin rights. If someone removes it or takes those rights away, Postivate marks the channel as needing reconnection. Add the bot back and press Reconnect.

  • Short captions read better

    A caption can hold 1,024 characters. Longer text still goes out, as its own message after the media, but a short caption keeps the photo and the words together.

  • Save the sound for news

    Every post can buzz your members’ phones. Send reminders, restocks and late-evening posts silently, and keep the notification for the posts that matter most.

Can I schedule posts to a Telegram channel?

Yes. Connect your channel and schedule text posts, photos, videos, GIFs and albums for any time. Groups work the same way.

How do I connect a Telegram channel or group?

Choose Telegram in Postivate and add Postivate’s bot to the channel or group as an admin. Telegram opens a chat picker that asks for the rights to post and delete messages. Then post the one-time code Postivate shows you, like /connect PV-7K3M9Q2A, in that chat. The bot deletes the code right away and the chat is connected.

Does Postivate need my Telegram login or phone number?

No. Postivate never gets access to your Telegram account or your private chats. Its bot only posts to chats where an admin added it, and you can remove it at any time.

Does it work with private channels and groups?

Yes. Public and private channels and groups connect the same way, as long as you’re an admin there. Each connected chat uses one channel slot.

How many photos or videos can a Telegram post have?

One photo, video or GIF with your text as the caption, or an album of up to 10 photos and videos, mixed. Photos can be up to 10 MB, and videos and GIFs up to 50 MB, Telegram’s limits for bots.

What happens to long text on a photo or video?

Telegram allows 1,024 characters in a caption. If your text is longer, Postivate posts the media first and sends the text as its own message right after it, up to 4,096 characters.

Can I send a Telegram post silently?

Yes. Turn on Send silently and members get the post without a sound. You can also protect a post from forwarding and saving, and choose whether a post without media shows a link preview.

Can I schedule threads or comments on Telegram?

No. Each Telegram post goes out on its own, as a message or an album. There are no threads, replies or first comments.

What happens if the bot is removed from my channel?

Postivate marks the channel as needing reconnection. Add the bot back as an admin and press Reconnect to bring it back.

Which Telegram analytics do I get?
