Analytics

Social media analytics that show what works, network by network.

Every post you publish through Postivate is measured on each network it went to. Compare it with the period before, see which posts and accounts are growing, and read every number the way the network meant it.

  • Compared with the previous period
  • Per account and per post
  • No made-up totals

The big picture

Is it working? The answer, on one page.

Posts published, engagements, engagement rate and follower growth for the period you pick, each against the one before. The trend draws the previous period on the same scale, so a good week looks like one.

  • Pick posts published or engagements to drive the chart
  • A table view under every chart, for the exact numbers
  • Days a network didn’t report stay gaps instead of dropping to zero
  • Top posts and a table of every account, side by side

Accounts

Each network counts “seen” differently, so it’s shown in its own terms and never added up.

AccountSeenRate

Missing values are gaps, never zero.

Each network in its own terms

Instagram views are not X impressions.

Pick an account and Postivate shows it the way its network does: the metrics it reports, under their own names, with followers and a change for each one against the previous period.

  • Every metric the network reports, each one able to drive the chart
  • Reel watch time and Story replies on Instagram, link and profile clicks on X
  • Followers recorded daily for Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Pinterest, TikTok and Tumblr, members for Telegram
  • Clear notes where a network shares less, like LinkedIn and Telegram
Instagram: Alder & Co.

Per post

Every post, measured and sortable.

Each account has a table of its posts with the network’s own columns. Sort by any of them to find what travelled furthest, switch to the previous period to compare, and open the post on the network in one click.

  • Format badges for Reels and Stories
  • This period and the previous one, side by side
  • Each post’s numbers on its own page too, next to its preview
  • A post that went to several accounts shows the numbers for each one

How it’s collected

Five readings for every post.

Postivate reads each post’s numbers from the network on a fixed schedule after it goes out, so early results and the long tail are both there.

If a network is busy or a connection needs attention, Postivate tries again later. Numbers count toward the day the post went out, in your workspace’s time zone.

Analytics FAQ

Postivate analytics, answered.

Which numbers does Postivate show for each network?

The ones each network reports, under its own names. Instagram: views, reach, likes, comments, shares, saves, watch time for Reels and replies for Stories. Facebook: impressions, reach, reactions, comments, shares and clicks. X: impressions, likes, replies, reposts, quotes, bookmarks, link clicks and profile clicks. Threads: views, likes, replies, reposts, quotes and shares. LinkedIn: reactions and comments. Bluesky: likes, replies, reposts, quotes and bookmarks (it doesn’t share views). Mastodon: favorites, boosts and replies (no views either). Pinterest: impressions, saves, Pin clicks, outbound clicks, reactions and comments for each Pin. TikTok: views, likes, comments and shares. Tumblr: likes, reblogs and replies from each post’s notes (it doesn’t share views). Telegram doesn’t share post numbers with apps, so Postivate records only each channel’s and group’s member count. Engagements and engagement rate are worked out the same way for every network that allows it.

How is engagement rate calculated?

Engagements divided by views or impressions, depending on which one the network counts. Engagements are the network’s own total where it has one (Instagram), otherwise likes, reactions, comments, replies, shares, reposts, quotes, saves and bookmarks added up. Clicks and views are never counted as engagements. LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon and Tumblr don’t report views, so they have no engagement rate.

Why don’t you add views and impressions together?

Because they aren’t the same thing. An Instagram view, an X impression and a Facebook impression are counted differently, so Postivate shows each account’s figure in its own terms instead of adding them up into one total that wouldn’t mean anything.

How often are the numbers updated?

Postivate reads each post’s numbers 1 hour, 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days and 28 days after it’s published. Follower counts are recorded once a day for Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Pinterest, TikTok and Tumblr, and member counts for Telegram channels and groups. LinkedIn doesn’t share follower counts with apps like Postivate, and Telegram doesn’t share views or reactions for posts.

How far back does the history go?

It depends on your plan: 30 days on Starter, 12 months on Pro and 24 months on Business. You can look at the last 7, 30 or 90 days, 12 months or 24 months, as far as your plan allows. Moving to a smaller plan shortens the window you can see; the data itself isn’t deleted.

Does Postivate show posts I published somewhere else?

No. Analytics cover the posts published through Postivate, so the numbers line up with what you planned and approved.

Can I compare with the previous period?

Yes. Every total is shown against the period before it, and the trend chart draws the previous period on the same scale. Per account, the post table switches between this period and the previous one.

Can clients see analytics?

Only if you let them. Each workspace has a “Clients can see analytics” setting that is off by default. Team members see analytics for the channels they have access to.

Can I get the numbers into my own tools?

Yes, through the REST API with an API key that has the analytics permission, or from an AI assistant like Claude over MCP.
