Facebook Pages Live

Schedule Facebook posts, Reels and Stories for every Page you run.

Write the post once, give Facebook its own version when it needs one, and Postivate publishes it to your Pages on time. Your team can check it first, and the results come back to the same place.

Facebook formats

What you can publish to Facebook

Each format is checked against Facebook’s own rules while you write, so problems show up in the composer instead of at publishing time.

  • Post

Text, a link, or up to 10 photos and videos

  • Reel

One vertical video, 3 to 90 seconds

  • Story

One image, or a video up to 60 seconds

How it works

From draft to live on Facebook

  1. 1

    Connect your Pages

Sign in with Facebook and pick the Pages you manage. Each Page becomes a channel in the workspace you choose, so client Pages stay apart from your own.

  2. 2

    Write once, adjust for Facebook

Start from the shared post or write a Facebook-only version. Facebook allows up to 63,206 characters, and the preview shows where the feed folds the text behind “See more”.

  3. 3

    Get it approved

If the workspace needs approval, the post waits for the right person, who can approve it or send it back with a comment. An approval covers the exact version that was reviewed, so an edit afterwards goes back for review.

  4. 4

    Publish and measure

Postivate publishes at the time you set, adds your comments in order and retries if Facebook has a temporary problem. Impressions, reach and reactions appear next to the post.

Posts, Reels and Stories in one calendar

Pick the format per Page. A post can be plain text, a link, or a set of photos and videos. A Reel is one vertical video. A Story is a single image or a short video. Facebook doesn’t show text on Stories, so the caption belongs on the post.

  • Up to 10 photos or videos in a post
  • Reels: 9:16, 3 to 90 seconds
  • Stories: one image or a video up to 60 s

A first comment, and a few more

Some Pages keep the post short and put the details, credits or links underneath. Write those comments together with the post. Postivate adds them as soon as the post is live, in the order you set; if one can’t be posted, the ones after it are skipped rather than posted out of order.

  • Up to 5 comments per post
  • 8,000 characters each
  • One image per comment

Every Page in its own workspace

Agencies and multi-brand teams rarely run a single Page. Put each brand in its own workspace with its own people, approval rules and calendar, and still see every brand together at the organization level.

  • Channel slots shared across workspaces
  • Client access per workspace
  • One calendar across all brands

Facebook analytics

See how every Facebook post did.

Facebook reports impressions, reach, reactions, comments, shares and clicks for each post, and Postivate keeps them in Facebook’s own terms. Page followers are recorded daily, and every period is compared with the one before, so a good week stands out.

Good to know

Before you schedule for Facebook

A few things about how Facebook works with scheduling apps, from what we’ve learned building for it.

  • Pages, not profiles or Groups

Facebook lets apps publish to Pages only. Personal profiles and Groups are off limits to every scheduling tool, so posts for a Group still go out from Facebook itself.

  • The first lines carry the post

Longer posts fold behind “See more” after a few lines in the feed. Lead with the news, the offer or the question, and let the rest follow.

  • Reels have their own clock

A Facebook Reel runs 3 to 90 seconds. Postivate checks the length when you add the video, so a two-minute clip gets flagged while you write, not at 9 in the morning.

  • You need posting rights on the Page

Connect with a Facebook account that can create content on the Page. If that access is removed later, the channel is flagged in Postivate and you’re told how to reconnect.

Beyond Facebook

One workflow for every network.

Facebook is one channel in Postivate. Write once, give each network its own version, and keep approvals, the calendar and the results in one place.

Facebook FAQ

Scheduling on Facebook, answered.

Can I schedule posts to a Facebook Group or a personal profile?

No. Facebook only allows apps to publish to Pages, so Postivate, like every other scheduler, can’t post to personal profiles or Groups.

Can I schedule Facebook Reels and Stories?

Yes. Choose Reel or Story as the format for a Facebook Page. Reels take one vertical video between 3 and 90 seconds; Stories take one image or a video up to 60 seconds. Text isn’t shown on Stories.

How many photos can a Facebook post have?

Up to 10 photos and videos in one post. You can also post text only, or text with a link.

Can I add a first comment to a Facebook post?

Yes. Add up to 5 comments of up to 8,000 characters, each with an optional image. They’re posted in order right after the post goes live.

Can I post the same thing to Facebook and Instagram?

Yes. Select both channels and write the post once. Open either channel to change its text, media or format; Instagram needs at least one image or video, and Postivate tells you if a version doesn’t fit.

Which Facebook analytics do I get?

Impressions, reach, reactions, comments, shares, clicks and engagement rate for each post, plus daily Page followers. History goes back 30 days on Starter, 12 months on Pro and 24 months on Business.

Can a client approve Facebook posts before they go out?

Yes, on Pro and Business. Invite the client as a guest of their workspace; they see only that brand and can approve or request changes.
