How it works
From draft to live on Bluesky

Connect Bluesky
Sign in on Bluesky’s own login page and approve Postivate. There’s no app password to create. If your account lives on another server, enter your handle first and Postivate finds it.

Write a post or a thread
Each post has 300 characters, counted the way Bluesky counts them, so an emoji or a flag is one. Add replies under the first post to turn it into a thread.

Get it approved
If the workspace needs approval, the post waits for the right person, who can approve it or send it back with a comment. An approval covers the exact version that was reviewed, so an edit afterwards goes back for review.

Publish in order
The first post goes out at your time with your reply setting, then each reply under the one before it. Links, mentions and hashtags arrive clickable, and likes, reposts and replies start coming in.
Threads that read top to bottom
Plan the whole thread in one place, with images on the posts that need them. Postivate publishes each reply under the previous one, all tied to the first post, so the thread stays together in the feed.

Set replies per post: everyone, the accounts you follow, your followers, only the accounts you mention, or nobody. The setting is saved with the post, so it’s in place the moment it goes live.

Bluesky doesn’t turn text into links on its own. Postivate does it when it publishes: links, @mentions and #hashtags become clickable, and the first link gets a preview card when the post has no images.

A few things about how Bluesky works with scheduling apps, from what we’ve learned building for it.
Write for the replies
Bluesky rewards conversation more than reach. Ask something, answer the replies, and give the post a reason to be quoted.
Keep links in the post
Links aren’t penalized on Bluesky. Put the link right in the post, and the card that comes with it does the rest.
Use custom feeds and starter packs
People find accounts through feeds and starter packs rather than one algorithm. A few well-chosen hashtags help your posts land in topic feeds.
Give it its own version
A caption written for Instagram reads oddly here. Open the Bluesky version, cut it to fit, and drop the hashtag block.

Yes. Connect your Bluesky account and schedule text posts, images and videos for any time.
Can I schedule a Bluesky thread?
Yes. Add up to 24 replies under the first post. They’re published in order, each replying to the previous one.
Do I need a Bluesky app password?
No. Postivate uses Bluesky’s own sign-in (OAuth): you log in on Bluesky and approve access, and you can remove it from your Bluesky settings at any time.
Does it work with accounts on other Bluesky servers?
Yes. Accounts on bsky.social connect straight away; for an account on another server, enter your handle when you connect and Postivate finds its server.
How many images or videos can a Bluesky post have?
