How it works

How to use the X Bio Generator

  1. 1

    Describe yourself

What you do, who it’s for and what people get by following you, in a sentence or two.

  2. 2

    Pick a tone

Twelve tones, from casual and professional to witty and inspirational. Add emojis and a call to action if you like.

  3. 3

    Copy your favorite

Each bio shows its length against the 160 limit and how it looks on an X profile.

X bio rules

What fits in an X bio

The generator writes within these limits, so what you copy works when you paste it.

  • 1

    160 characters

Spaces, emojis and line breaks all count, and some emojis can count as two. The generator leaves a little room so nothing gets cut.

  • 2

    Mentions and hashtags are links

An @handle or #hashtag in your bio becomes clickable. Add your company or project handle yourself after you copy a bio; the generator never invents one.

  • 3

Your link has its own field

X gives you a website field under the bio. Point to it with “link below” instead of pasting a URL into the text.

  • 4

Your name and bio are searchable

X search looks at your name and bio. Use the words people would search for, like “product designer” or “indie game dev”.

Bio ideas

Bios for every kind of account

  • Builders and founders

What you’re building, for whom, and why to follow along: “Building a calmer inbox for small teams. Shipping notes every Friday.”

  • Writers and creators

Your topic and your promise: “Threads on personal finance for people who hate spreadsheets.”

  • Professionals

Your role, your focus and one proof point, then how to reach you.

  • Brands

What you do in one line, a reason to follow (news, tips, offers) and where to get help.

X Bio Generator FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is the character limit for an X (Twitter) bio?

160 characters, including spaces, emojis and line breaks. The generator keeps every bio under that limit and shows the count.

Is the X bio generator free?

Yes. You can generate bios without signing up. We only use what you type to write the bios and don’t store it.

Can I use line breaks in my X bio?

Yes. Paste a bio with line breaks into Edit profile and they’re kept. Short lines are easier to scan on a phone.

Should I put hashtags in my X bio?

One or two at most, and only ones people actually follow or search. A bio full of hashtags reads like spam; your words and your pinned post do more.

What should I put in my X bio?

Who you are or what you do, what people get by following (tips, news, behind the scenes) and what to do next. Pin a post that shows your best work to back it up.
