How it works
How to use the YouTube Bio Generator
- 1
Describe your channel
What your videos are about, who they’re for and, if you have one, your upload schedule.
- 2
Pick a tone
Twelve tones, from friendly and humorous to authoritative and inspirational. Add emojis and a call to action if you like.
- 3
Copy your favorite
Each version shows its length against the 1,000 limit and how it looks on your channel.
YouTube description rules
What fits in a YouTube channel description
The generator writes within these limits, so what you copy works when you paste it.
- 1
Up to 1,000 characters
Room for a few short paragraphs. The generator aims for a description people read in full, not one that fills the limit.
- 2
The first line shows first
Your channel page shows the start of the description, and the rest opens with “more”. Say what the channel is about and who it’s for right away.
- 3
Links go in the Links section
YouTube has its own place for links, shown under the description. Point to them instead of pasting URLs into the text.
- 4
Words people search for
Use the words your viewers would type into search, like “beginner guitar lessons” or “budget travel”, in a natural sentence.

YouTube Bio Generator FAQ
Questions, answered.
What is the character limit for a YouTube channel description?
1,000 characters, including spaces and line breaks. The generator keeps every version under that limit and shows the count.
Is the YouTube bio generator free?
Yes. You can generate channel descriptions without signing up. We only use what you type to write them and don’t store it.
Where do I change my YouTube channel description?
In YouTube Studio, open Customization, then Profile, and paste it into Description. You can add links in the same place.
Does the channel description help with YouTube search?
It helps YouTube and viewers understand what your channel is about. Describe your topics in the words people search for, but write for people first: no keyword lists.
Why is there no “Send a DM” call to action?
YouTube doesn’t have direct messages, so the generator offers the calls to action that work there, like visiting your link, shopping or booking.
