    Link back to your profile from your website with rel="me" and the link turns green with a check, so people know it’s really you.

What is the character limit for a Mastodon bio?

500 characters on mastodon.social and most servers. Server admins can change it, so yours may differ. The generator keeps every bio under 500.

Is the Mastodon bio generator free?

Yes. You can generate bios without signing up. We only use what you type to write the bios and don’t store it.

How do I add a link to my Mastodon profile?

Add it as a profile field under Edit profile, with a label like Website. To verify it, link back to your Mastodon profile from that page with rel="me".

Where do I change my Mastodon bio?

Open Preferences, then Public profile (or Edit profile in the apps), and paste it into Bio.

Should I add hashtags to my Mastodon bio?

A few can help people with the same interests find you, since hashtags are how Mastodon’s search works. Add your own after copying a bio: the generator doesn’t invent them.
