How a tweet looks as an image

  • 1

    Light, dim or dark

All three X themes. Dark tweets stand out on light backgrounds.

  • 2

    Views and likes

Show the numbers, change them or hide them for a cleaner card.

  • 3

    Attach an image

A photo or chart sits inside the tweet with X’s rounded corners.

  • 4

    Made for Instagram

Portrait 1080 × 1350 is the size for sharing a tweet in the Instagram feed.

Good to know

Images that get shared

  • Portrait for feeds

A 1080 × 1350 image takes the most room in Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn feeds.

  • Story size for Stories

1080 × 1920 fills the screen. Keep the card in the middle, away from the top and bottom.

  • Contrast with the background

A dark card on a light background, or the other way round, keeps the post the first thing people see.

  • PNG for text

PNG keeps text sharp. JPG makes smaller files when the image is mostly a photo.

Tweet to Image FAQ

Questions, answered.

How do I share a tweet on Instagram?

Make an image of it here at Portrait (1080 × 1350) or Story size (1080 × 1920), then post the image.

Does it look like a real tweet?

It uses X’s layout, colors and themes, with your own name, picture and words.

Can I paste a link to the tweet?

Yes. The name, username, text and date come in from X. X doesn’t share the profile picture or the numbers this way, so add those yourself.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Pictures and screenshots are read and drawn in your browser, and never leave your device.

Can I make a post look like someone else wrote it?

Please don’t. It’s meant for your own posts and posts you have permission to share. Passing off made-up posts as someone else’s misleads people and breaks every network’s rules.
